Grasshopper is pictured here with his prize ribbons which he won at the recent Cat Show in Ancaster.  He was entered in the Household Pets category and was sponsored by the Hamilton Cat Fanciers.  Cricket won 6 prizes and Grasshopper won 2 ... not bad for a couple of first-timers.  Whoever adopts Cricket and Grasshopper will also get to keep their prize ribbons.

Grasshopper
and his brother, Cricket, were rescued when they were just a few months old, along with their 3 sisters, Firefly, Butterfly and Ladybug.  They were born under the back porch of a home in the north-east area of Hamilton around Sanford Ave.  The kittens all went to a foster home and the girls were adopted almost immediately, but adoptions slowed down over the summer and the 2 boys still didn't have a home.  They are now almost a year old and have been together all their lives, so we are really hoping that they can be adopted together.  Their foster mom says that they are playful and friendly, although initially a bit shy with strangers.  If you are interested in a couple of handsome young kitties, please call one of our volunteers and arrange to visit them.
