Sofie was lucky enough to find the home of a very kind animal lover in Stoney Creek who knows all the animals in her neighbourhood - which ones have homes and which ones are strays. So when Sofie wandered into her yard looking for food and shelter, she knew that this little one needed help. Although she could take Sofie into her home temporarily, she already had her fair share of animals and could not keep her. Animal Welfare agreed to help and Sofie came into our care. Because she didn't have any human contact as a young kitten, she is still fairly shy but she is learning to trust her caregivers in her foster home and is getting along well with the other cats. Now she will even come running at the sound of treats being shaken and will roll over and let her tummy be rubbed. With a little patience and understanding, it shouldn't take too long for Sofie to gain more confidence.
