City
of Hamilton community pet recovery system
Lost
or found a pet? Go to
www.hamilton.ca/animalcontrol
to
create a lost/found report.
The
system can recover a pet based on a physical
description
when a tag, microchip or tattoo is not available.
Automatically
searches and notifies the loser and
finder
of pets of the potential match.
Serves
up "Google-like" matches so the user can
follow
up with these potential matches.
Suggestions to help you search for a missing pet:
Make
a poster and get at least 100 photocopies.
Tip:
make some full page posters and also make
some
small flyers to put in mailboxes.
Include
description of pet, photo if possible, sex,
date
lost, area lost, and your phone number.
Put
them in every mailbox on your street and for
several
blocks around. Talk to as many people in your
area
as possible and ask them to check their property,
under
porches and decks and in garden sheds.
Put
posters in local stores, vet clinics, etc.
Put
an ad in the Spectator Classifieds Lost and Found
It's
free - just call 905-527-5555
Give
a basic description of your cat (sex, colour)
area
and when it was lost and your phone number.
